About Healing in Motion (UK) | Independent Medical Cannabis Guidance

Committed to Clarity and Support in Medical Cannabis

Why This Exists

Healing in Motion was founded in response to the operational uncertainty that continues to surround lawfully prescribed medical cannabis across the United Kingdom.

Across housing, employment, healthcare and public services, the challenge is rarely unwillingness. More often, it is uncertainty about how policies, professional responsibilities and lawful prescriptions should work together in everyday practice.

The law exists. Prescriptions exist. Professional guidance exists.

Yet the space between them can still create uncertainty for organisations, professionals and the people they support.

Healing in Motion exists to help bridge that gap through education, operational guidance, research and practical support.

This is where clearer, more proportionate and more consistent decision-making begins.

Our Approach

Healing in Motion supports people and organisations in navigating situations where law, policy, professional responsibilities and real-world practice do not always align neatly.

Our approach combines structured decision-making with ongoing learning. We use practical frameworks to support proportionate responses today, while continually improving our understanding through research and operational experience.

How We Think – The Four Lenses Framework

Every situation is explored through four complementary perspectives:

Legal Alignment
What do the law, policy and professional standards require?

Operational Clarity
How does this work in practice?

Proportionate Response
What is the most balanced and defensible approach?

Human Impact
What does this mean for the person involved?

How We Act – The Operational Response Guide (ORG)

Once a situation has been explored through the Four Lenses, the Operational Response Guide provides a structured process for responding consistently and proportionately.

Acknowledge → Clarify → Assess Context → Apply a Proportionate Response → Record

How We Learn

Healing in Motion continues to refine its educational resources and operational guidance through structured research, operational engagement and lived experience.

This work is supported by the Operational Confidence Research Programme (OCRP), helping ensure that guidance continues to reflect emerging operational practice as well as established legislation and professional standards.

We think through the Four Lenses.
We act through the Operational Response Guide.
We continue to learn through research and real-world experience.

Human Context

In professional environments, policies and procedures are essential.

But when situations involve health, vulnerability, or uncertainty, the human element must remain central.

Across housing, workplaces, and public services, responses are often shaped by incomplete understanding — not intent.

Clarity ensures those responses remain fair, proportionate, and grounded in reality.

Looking Ahead

As lawful medical cannabis continues to become more widely prescribed, organisations will increasingly encounter situations requiring clear, proportionate and evidence-led responses.

Healing in Motion exists to support that transition through practical guidance, governance, education and operational confidence.
